Role: The Senior Project Manager is a management position that requires a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a leader for our Project Management Team. This is a dynamic position that is critical to keeping the day-to-day production of our jobs running smoothly by providing experience, guidance, and support to our Project Managers. In addition, this position will also be responsible for managing projects over a scaled-down territory with a focus on their project’s success, quality, and profitability.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee team of 3-4 project managers.
  • Support sales staff, Administrators, and Project Managers to function as the main ‘driver’ of moving jobs through the pipeline from initial purchase order through job completion.
  • Must actively monitor new job pipeline and work with Project Managers to help review/approve Materials Specifications within a 72-hour timeline from Post PO submission.
  • Review workload and project plans with the PM team to ensure they understand how to properly vet a job for cost-savings opportunities.
  • Ensuring all quantities of material required are accurate and provide the best opportunity to satisfy the customers’ needs and maximize cost savings and company profitability.
  • Attend project meetings as requested and required – this is mandatory on GC projects.
  • Responsible for acclimating new hires by providing focused training both in the office and in the field.
  • Walking jobs with Project Managers with a focus on ways to promote cost savings and increase gross profit.
  • Pre-Job site inspections must occur as frequently as possible. Conditions must be reviewed and documented with a close eye for detail – get ahead of potential issues as early as possible and document conditions with pictures and emails.
  • Supervision of in-house field staff is critical and must be closely managed across Commercial and Sports Flooring Divisions with a focus on increasing productivity and keeping Labor under budget.
  • Manage and work closely with sub-contractors throughout the installation process. You are their first point of contact for any questions or issues that may arise.
  • Frequently visit job sites to maintain job-site conditions, manage material, and inspect the quality and accuracy of work being performed. React to potential issues in real-time to minimize large punch list items at job completion.
  • Ensure flooring installation is performed to a high level of quality and on time. Document installation with pictures and save it into the job folder for future reference.
  • Lead pre-job walk-throughs with Project Managers mentoring them on how to spot and resolve potential issues before they happen and guiding them to mitigate problems.
  • Monitor large and complex projects regularly to ensure jobs are running smoothly and being installed to the highest level of quality.
Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally.
  • Good analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience preferred in the flooring and/or construction industry.
  • Familiar with preparing construction documents reflecting design intent, scope, budget, and schedules.
  • Experience working with RFMS and RFMS Measure a plus.
