RENU Contracting Restoration has an energy division. RENU Energy Solutions is an ESCO actively pursuing Energy Performance Contracts (EPC) with school district, municipal, higher education, and healthcare clients throughout Long Island, Westchester County, and Rockland County, New York.
RENU spent ten years working with EPCs as a subcontractor for other ESCOs, often with existing RENU school district clients who valued RENU’s outstanding customer service and performance on their projects. After hearing consistent issues that the school districts were having with their EPCs, Scott Colletti and Mike VanDenburg, principals of RENU and Milburn Flooring, felt that with RENU’s knowledge of their client’s facilities and RENU’s proven track record of building project professionally and on time, felt that RENU could deliver a more cost-effective and well-managed project, becoming an ESCO and directly competing for EPC projects.
Scott added, “Mike and I felt we could help our clients achieve better results for their EPCs if we were the ESCO. We certainly know how to build projects and have proven that. We just needed to find the right person to lead the new division and build the team with the right experience in performance contracting.”
Robert Ragozine was hired as Vice President of Energy Solutions to lead RENU’s ESCO division. Ragozine joins RENU with over 30 years of experience in the energy services industry. This includes having worked directly for ESCOs, starting his own energy consulting business, joining one of the largest mechanical contractors in New York City and helping transform it into an energy services company, which led to the outright purchase by Engie, and most recently, he headed up the ESCO Group for one of the largest electrical contractors in the country, taking sales from zero to over $50,000,000.
